We are asked all sorts of questions but here are the top ones
What is your aim?
The Group's goal is to provide a casual forum in which all Wester Ross photographers can enhance their photographic skills and interest through cooperation and sharing with others.

Can anyone join your group?
Yes. Anyone with a sincere interest in the art and practice of photography whether professionally or as a hobby, may become a member of the WRPG. If you would like to join, contact us through the website or just come along to one of our meetings.

Can I go to some meetings before I join?
Yes. Prospective members are more than welcome to come along to one or two of our meetings before you decide on joining.

How much is it to join?
Annual membership is £15 per person, £25 per couple. Meeting Fee: £2pp

How long are the meetings?
Meetings start at 7.00pm and normally run until around 9.00pm.

Do I need to be a photography expert?
Definitely not. We have a wide range of members some of whom are relative beginners and some advanced with everything in between. We are a group who welcome all levels and hopefully assist in learning more about photography.

What equipment do I need?
Ultimately none but just an interest in photography. However, to contribute to some of our projects and events you would need some form of Digital Camera.

What type of competitions do you have?
None. We have no requirement for competitions.

What if I want to enter competitions or gain distinctions?
We have members who can give you help in this area, why not come along for a chat to see how.

Who runs WRPG?
The members of WRPG run the group. They volunteer their time to help with the meetings, photo exhibitions, and special events. Anything regarding the group is discussed at our meetings. All members have an equal say in what the group does and its direction.

What activities and services does WRPG offer?
The Group holds its regular evening meetings at Aultbea Village Hall every two weeks during October through June.
Generally, the meetings include guest speakers covering some aspect of photography. We also engage in various field photo shoots, mini exhibitions and presentations to outside groups.
Each year we hold our Annual Member's Show, which features some of the best photography in the area. Members are encouraged to bring two of their finest works from the year to this show.
The Group assists members with the following:
Exchange of photographic equipment and/or publications; networking with photographic sources and markets; non-competitive evaluations; and interfacing with other photographic groups.

What about COVID restrictions?
When restrictions are in place that limit our meeting in any venue, we will hold meetings via Zoom.
