Wester Ross Photography group was formed in 2016 by a number of local people who enjoy their photography and agreed that an informal structure of self help and practical field photography would be the model for the group. The aim being to encourage anyone to learn or improve their photography and for the more experienced members to mentor, help and direct and maybe even get some out of that "photographers block" that affects so many photographers.
WRPG is a photographic group open to all with an interest in photography whether you are a complete beginner or have a professional understanding of photography The groups aim is to ensure that all are encouraged to develop and progress at their own pace without any peer pressure and achieve their own level of satisfaction.
The group is not competition minded, rather it believes that photography is an art and as such each individual interprets their photographic vision differently and that a good photographer will produce work that is appreciated and enjoyed by all. If you feel that you would like to enter competitions, there are members who can guide you in what and where you should aim your efforts.
Some of our members are successful in UK and international exhibitions, others qualified UK photographic judges and lecturers and so can provide you with any help you require.
If you are new to photography we can explain the fundamental photographic principles, help with understanding your camera, what makes a picture stunning rather than good and with member nights that present new ideas and techniques should improve your photography.
Remember you are never too old or experienced to learn new techniques, ideas and ways of improving your photography.
